North Atlanta Homes of the Week: Alpharetta, Roswell & Canton Real Estate Picks

Roswell Angela Medley August 14, 2026

If you’re searching for homes for sale in North Atlanta, sometimes the best way to understand the market is to look beyond the listing photos and price tags.

Each week, I review homes across Roswell, Alpharetta, Milton, Canton, Woodstock and the surrounding North Atlanta communities and choose a few that stand out to me. My picks aren't necessarily the newest listings or simply the prettiest homes. I’m looking at location, value, design, neighborhood, lifestyle and the features that I believe today's buyers will appreciate.

This week, we're going from a $2.35 million walkable Downtown Alpharetta home all the way to a $300,000 Canton property that requires some serious rose-colored glasses!

Here are my North Atlanta Listings of the Week—and, more importantly, why I chose each one.

Most Expensive: 437 Jon Scott Drive, Alpharetta, GA 30009

Price: $2,350,000

There is a lot to like about 437 Jon Scott Drive, but the first thing that caught my attention is the location.

This home is walkable to Downtown Alpharetta, putting restaurants, shopping and entertainment practically at your doorstep. For buyers who want a luxury home while still being connected to everything happening in Downtown Alpharetta, that combination is hard to beat.

Built in 2024, the home also offers many of the newer finishes buyers are asking for right now.

I especially love the way the design mixes warm wood finishes with solid surfaces. The contrast gives the home a modern look without making it feel cold, and the overall design choices are fabulous.

Inside, you'll find 10-foot ceilings, hardwood floors, a chef's kitchen with integrated appliances and an oversized island, plus a main-level primary suite with a fireplace and spa-like bath. A wall of glass doors opens to a covered patio and private, fenced backyard with room to envision a future pool.

There is also a three-car garage with an EV charging station and plenty of smart-home features.

Why I chose it:

Location + new finishes + beautiful design.

You get the look and feel so many buyers want in newer construction without having to wait for a new home to be built—and you can walk to Downtown Alpharetta.

My Favorite: 510 Grove Park Place, Roswell, GA 30075

Price: $1,875,000

This one is my favorite, and here's why:

I'm a sucker for a modern redesign of an early-2000s house!

510 Grove Park Place is located in the guard-gated Lakeside at Ansley community and sits on approximately 1.5 acres on a private cul-de-sac.

But it's the combination of older construction quality and newer design that really wins me over.

Homes built before the 2008 recession can have some wonderful quality finishes and construction details that can be incredibly expensive to reproduce in new construction today. This home takes those qualities and marries them with a more current, sophisticated design.

Love!

The interior features soaring ceilings, generous room sizes, designer lighting and a beautifully updated kitchen centered around a large quartzite island. The main-level primary suite provides another feature many buyers are looking for.

Then there's the outdoor living.

The property includes a pool, screened patio, built-in heaters, fans and a full outdoor kitchen. Downstairs, the finished terrace level adds a wine cellar, game room, media room and space for a future fitness area.

Why I chose it:

The best of both worlds.

You get the character, scale and quality finishes of an earlier luxury home combined with the fresh design today's buyers want. That's a combination I love finding in the Roswell real estate market.

Most Desirable: 245 Lakemont Drive, Roswell, GA 30075

Price: $575,000

There are several reasons 245 Lakemont Drive earns my Most Desirable pick this week.

First, it's in a lake community.

Second, you're close enough to enjoy the restaurants, shops and lifestyle surrounding Canton Street and Historic Roswell.

And then there's the neighborhood itself. I love established Roswell neighborhoods with wide, tree-lined streets, mature landscaping and that feeling that the neighborhood has grown into itself over time.

The home offers three bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, an updated primary suite, a screened porch overlooking the backyard and a finished basement area that could become a recreation room, gym, bedroom, studio or media space.

There's even a community lake and dock for fishing and enjoying the outdoors.

Most importantly, I think this one is priced so well for someone who wants to make updates.

Instead of paying a premium for someone else's renovation choices, there's an opportunity here to buy in a wonderful location and gradually make the house your own.

Why I chose it:

Neighborhood + location + lake lifestyle + potential.

At $575,000, this is the kind of Roswell property that gets my attention because you're buying more than the house. You're buying into an established neighborhood and a location that's difficult to recreate.

Low Price Deal: 3877 Creekmore Street, Canton, GA 30115

Price: $300,000

Okay, this one is a little...

Eek!

I'm not going to pretend you can walk into 3877 Creekmore Street and simply start choosing throw pillows.

This home needs work.

But this is exactly why I like having a Low Price Deal category. Sometimes you have to put on your rose-colored glasses and imagine what a property could be.

And there are two things here that are difficult to change: the yard and the location.

The yard is amazing, and the Canton location is great.

The home has three bedrooms and two baths, a large vaulted sunroom, screened porch, unfinished basement, drive-under two-car garage, fenced backyard, deck and above-ground pool. There is also no HOA.

The listing indicates the property is being sold as-is, so this is definitely a home where buyers need to understand the condition and the potential costs involved.

But at a $300,000 purchase price, you're keeping a lot more of your house money in your pocket upfront. For the right buyer, that may create room in the budget to tackle improvements and turn an imperfect property into something pretty special.

Why I chose it:

Price + yard + location + potential.

Put on those rose-colored glasses, bring some imagination and think about what could be!

What These North Atlanta Homes Tell Us About the Market

One of the things I love about real estate in North Atlanta is how different the opportunities can be—even within the same week's listings.

At 437 Jon Scott Drive in Alpharetta, you're paying for walkability, newer construction and sophisticated finishes.

At 510 Grove Park Place in Roswell, you're getting something entirely different: the quality and scale of an earlier luxury home refreshed with today's design.

At 245 Lakemont Drive in Roswell, it's the established neighborhood, lake community, proximity to Historic Roswell and opportunity to update that stand out.

And at 3877 Creekmore Street in Canton, it's about seeing beyond what's there today and recognizing what location, land and a low purchase price could allow you to create tomorrow.

That's why looking at homes based solely on price per square foot or listing photos rarely tells the entire story.

Location matters. Construction quality matters. Neighborhood matters. And potential matters.
