The median sales price of an Atlanta home hit $385,250 in January, up 7% year over year and 0.9% month over month. The pace of sales, meanwhile, continued to slow.
By unit, home sales fell 23.2% month over month and .6% year over year to 3,074 properties, Georgia MLS reported, citing its 12-county Housing Market Snapshot. By dollar volume, sales came in at $1.41 billion, down 25.2% from $1.89 billion in December but up 9.3% from $1.29 billion in January 2023.
At the same time, new listings surged 56.2% month over month and 9.9% year over year to 6,673. Active listings, meanwhile, were down 2.4% on a monthly basis but up 6.2% on a yearly one, at 11,118.
Georgia MLS’ 12-county report includes Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Paulding and Rockdale counties.
