Woodstock is a standout destination for outdoor living, offering an extensive network of parks, trails and green spaces that are woven into the fabric of everyday life. The city's commitment to preserving natural beauty while creating opportunities for recreation has helped establish Woodstock as one of North Georgia's most active and connected communities. Whether enjoying a leisurely walk through downtown, exploring wooded nature trails or spending time in one of the city's many parks, residents have easy access to outdoor experiences that promote wellness, connection and a high quality of life.

At the center of Woodstock's outdoor identity is the Greenprints Trail System, a long-term initiative designed to connect neighborhoods, parks, schools, shopping districts and community destinations through a growing network of multi-use trails. The system includes popular routes such as the Noonday Creek Trail and connections to regional trail networks, creating miles of accessible pathways for walking, running and cycling. Combined with thoughtfully designed parks, recreational amenities and ongoing investments in connectivity, Woodstock offers a highly walkable and nature-focused lifestyle that continues to attract residents seeking both adventure and community.

Woodstock's Greenprints Trail System was created to promote wellness, connectivity. and outdoor living across the community. In 2007, the Mayor and City Council launched a park and trail master plan that continues to guide development today. This vision was formally adopted into the Comprehensive Town Plan 2030 in 2008, calling for a 60+ mile network of trails and greenspace throughout the city. The plan was recognized by the Georgia Urban Forest Council with the Outstanding Greenspace Plan award.

Today, the Greenprints system connects neighborhoods, parks, schools and downtown-making it possible to experience much of Woodstock by foot or bike.

A key connector in the system, the Noonday Creek Trail links Downtown Woodstock to Highway 92 and extends toward the Woofstock Dog Park via a scenic bridge over Noonday Creek. Access points include Market Street downtown and Woofstock Park.

A regional extension project is also underway in partnership with Cherokee and Cobb Counties to expand the trail further south.
