My First MRI

mybreastlife Angela Medley November 7, 2026

My friend Amanda posted something on her story yesterday that caught my attention. Isn't it funny to think that someone may post something and not even know the impact it might make in a person's life? We should all strive to post things that bring hope to others who are out there watching. It was a video of this Passion song below and then this verse from the Bible. I focused on it because I knew that my first MRI was coming today and I was so nervous about it. I am extremely claustrophobic so the thought of going into a tube made me completely anxious. But, I was I getting ready that morning, I played this song and focused on its words. It brought me great peace.

I went to Atlanta Breast Care Specialists for my MRI and they were so kind to call in a prescription for an anti-anxiety medicine which I gladly took but looking back on the whole experience, I don't know that it was something that I really needed because my girl, Anna, made everything so calm and she was so compassionate. She explained everything to me, told me that she had done MRIs many times herself and she understood how unnerving the experience can be when you haven't done one before but she assured me I could do it. She also gave me lavender to smell once I laid down on the table which made me think I was on a massage table with my head in one of those massage head holder things and I was smelling lavender and listening to spa music. I relaxed and settled into the process.

My son, Nathan, had also given me great advice to slow my breathing and just focus on that. He had recently done a triathlon where he had to swim in a lake and in one of his first practice sessions in the lake, he got nervous and started to panic a bit. He reminded me of this and how he had to push himself to slow his breathing and calm himself down. He told me I could do the same if I got panicked inside the tube. This gave me great confidence for him to have that kind of faith in me too. Brian went with me to the appointment. He was so sweet because he dressed in sweatpants so he wouldn't have any metals on his clothing because he wanted to go into the room to hold my hand through the procedure. He's so thoughtful but unfortunately they wouldn't let him get past the waiting room! It was ok though. At the end of the day, I had truly just hyped up years of fear in my mind when I thought about the MRI and it really wasn't warranted at all. Sometimes we place fear in our minds for things that have no justification for those feelings. This was definitely one of them.

So back to my verse below. I am pasting this one up in my bathroom as a constant reminder of God's ultimate power and strength over my life and a reminder of my total trust in Him. I do not have to worry because He is in charge. I also love that my sweet friend, Janet, came to my house today and lovingly planted some tulip bulbs in the front of my house so I will have some beautiful flowers to look at in the spring. Just like the flowers of the field mentioned in this verse. The love and support is truly the greatest gift to me and the people of great strength and faith in my life who send subtle reminders throughout my day that God has me in the hollow of His hand.

Matthew 6: 25-34

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear? For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Here is my next video series that I watched today. It subtly discusses German New Medicine and I am excited to see Dr. Simmons research that she states she will begin to collect.

I also love the 7 steps that Dr. V gives in the video :

The 7 Essentials

  1. Let food be your medicine. Eat organic, and keep blood sugar from spiking. Her targets are fasting glucose under 80, under 120 two hours after a meal, A1c around 5, and fasting insulin around 4.
  2. Reduce toxic exposure. Avoid chemicals that mimic estrogen, found in some plastics, pesticides, skin products and sunscreens. She suggests a genetic test for how well you clear hormones, plus detox methods.
  3. Balance your energy. Chiropractic, acupuncture, massage, grounding, sleep, balanced hormones and daily exercise. Both hosts stress that staying active during and after treatment matters for outcomes.
  4. Heal emotional wounds. Dr. V would now rank this first. It covers managing stress, building community support, forgiveness, and leaving harmful relationships. She also claims left-side cancers are linked to issues with your mother and right-side cancers to issues with your father.
  5. Biological dentistry. Have mercury fillings removed with a special protocol. She calls root canals “dead organs” and advises against implants. She recommends a cone-beam CT scan to look for hidden infections at old extraction sites. She also notes that gum disease is associated with higher breast cancer risk after menopause.
  6. Therapeutic plants and herbs. Basics are magnesium, zinc and selenium, plus flax, DIM and broccoli sprouts. She wants vitamin D at 80–100 ng/mL. Beyond that she discusses high-dose IV vitamin C, medicinal mushrooms, curcumin, Poly-MVA, low-dose naltrexone, mistletoe, and pancreatic enzymes at escalating doses. She also recommends the RGCC “Greek test,” which looks for tumor cells circulating in the blood.
  7. Monitor your health. Track inflammation and iron markers (CRP, homocysteine, LDH, ESR, fibrinogen, D-dimer, ferritin) and use ultrasound and thermography.
