Atlanta’s housing market continued to gain momentum in March, with the pace of sales rising by double digits and the median sales price topping $400,000, according to the latest Georgia MLS 12-county Housing Market Snapshot.
On a unit basis, home sales surged 19.7% month over month to 4,822, compared to 4,029 in February, while on a volume basis, sales rose 26% to $2.40 billion, compared to $1.91 billion a month before. Year over year, sales were down 13.9% by units sold and 4.2% by volume.
The median sales price rose 1% month over month from $398,000 to $402,003. It was up 6.6% from the year-ago level of $377,000.
New listings jumped 9.8% month over month and 11.3% year over year to 8,112. Active listings, meanwhile, were up 6% on a monthly basis and 33.8% on a yearly one, at 12,689.
Georgia MLS’ 12-county report includes Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Paulding and Rockdale counties.
